Why I would NEVER be a Children’s Pastor…again!

From 2003-2005 I served as the Children’s Ministry team leader for Westminster Community Church. From2005-2007 I served as a youth pastor for Turning Point Christian Center and 2007-2009 I served as their Family Pastor. In the Summer of 2009 I transitioned to Trinity Church in beautiful Lubbock Texas to serve as a college/20somethings pastor. I have served in children’s ministry in some form or fashion since I was 12 years old, learning a great deal from children and their parents. I am by no means burnt out on children’s ministry- I love it. However I  have learned over the past year that I would never, ever, ever did I mention EVER be a children’s pastor again!

Well at least as long as I get to work on staff with Jonathan Cliff. He is hands down the greatest children’s pastor at Trinity  or in the world. His views on life, family and ministry are innovative and fresh. You should check out his blog at www.jonathancliff.com. If you are a children’s pastor he can help you, read his blog, email him, call him, learn from him.

This is why I will never be a children’s pastor.
